DAY 2 – MONDAY 26/09/2022 – GRASSE
Guided tour of the flower factory
Located in the south of Grasse, the Fabrique des Fleurs came to complete in 1986 the establishment of the Fragonard Historical Factory, whose space had become insufficient for the production of perfumes and soaps.
A visit to the packaging workshops allows you to witness the metamorphosis of perfumed products leaving the factory into refined products ready to be marketed to a public of amateurs. It also houses the production lines, the laboratory where the raw materials are mixed after being analyzed, to obtain the concentrates of the future perfumes.
Guided tour of the International Museum of Perfumery in Grasse
Our students were divided into two groups. Two guides had prepared a tour for us on the history of perfume and bottles, adapted to the profile of our students. An interactive questionnaire was given to the students. There was active listening and a good feeling from the students.
The International Museum of Perfumery allows you to discover the history and the originality of the profession of industrialists and the major perfumery houses. True testimony to the international technical, aesthetic, social and cultural history of the tradition of the use of scents, the museum takes an anthropological approach to the history of fragrances in all its aspects: raw materials, manufacturing, industry, innovation, trade, design, uses and through very diverse forms: works of art, decorative arts, textiles, archaeological evidence, unique pieces or industrial forms.

THE DISTILLORY ROOM: In this room are exhibited stills allowing steam distillation, hot enfleurage or maceration, cold enfleurage.
APERFUME CREATION WORKSHOP: Discovery of the senses and olfactory memory. Introduction to the olfactory pyramid by discovering 3 compositions of mixed essences that go into the development of a fragrance.

DAY 6 – FRIDAY 30/09/2022 – RETURN
Today we can draw up a very positive assessment of this experience which, for the first time, allowed our Professional Bac students to discover Grasse and Florence through its cultural richness, but also through immersion in a new country, and another language. We can also add to this experience a very important relational aspect, we discovered the students in a context other than the school context and this made it possible to strengthen the confidence and the links that we already shared with them.
The school trip designed as an educational project must be able to make students active, making the link between the experience of travel and school knowledge. It is then a question of reinvesting skills linked to experience.
The choice of the sites visited made it possible to stimulate a dynamic by articulating the educational journey around the knowledge acquired or in the process of being acquired.
One of the main challenges after this educational trip is to reinvest what made sense during this common but also singular experience. The students acquired real cultural and professional knowledge. This experience will be completely efficient and will allow them to capitalize on their knowledge during the rest of their career, both in a professional and personal approach.
